Estudiantes Visitantes de Intercambio

El Recinto de San Germán provee a los estudiantes visitantes de intercambio la combinación de experiencias enfocadas en una vida universitaria balanceada.  Se integran a nuestra comunidad dentro de un ambiente familiar, disfrutan de la belleza única de la región Suroeste, en San Germán, mejor conocido como la “Ciudad de las Lomas” y segunda ciudad fundada en Puerto Rico en el año 1573.

Para realizar intercambio, deberá solicitar a través de:

  • National Student Exchange (NSE):
    Si su universidad es miembro de esta red de universidades, favor comuníquese con el coordinador.  Para más información acceda a: nse.org
  • Study Abroad:
    Ser nominado por la oficina de relaciones internacionales de la universidad de origen.
  • Solicitud Directa:
    Cuando su universidad de origen no tiene consorcio o acuerdo de intercambio con la UIPR, deberá confirmar si la experiencia que desea realizar con nosotros será convalidada o conducente a su grado universitario. De ser así, solicite admisión como Estudiante Especial.

Incoming Exchange Students

San Germán Campus provides visiting exchange students a combination of experiences focused on a balanced university life.  They join our community where there is an environment of hospitality, enjoying the unique beauty in the southwest region, San Germán, better known as the “City of the Hills” and second city founded in Puerto Rico in the year 1573.

Apply for exchange with us through one of the following options:

  • National Student Exchange (NSE):
    If your home campus is a member of this network, contact your NSE coordinator.  For more information access: nse.org
  • Study Abroad:
    Once a consortia or exchange agreement is confirmed with San Germán Campus, students must be nominated by the International Relations or Study Abroad Office of your home campus.
  • Direct Application:
    When it is independently from consortia or exchange agreements, the students should ask the home campus if the desired experience will count towards his or her degree. If so, apply directly to San Germán Campus’ Admissions Office as a Special Student.

NOTA: Los estudiantes internacionales en intercambio por un semestre o un año deben solicitar Visa J-1. / International students on exchange for a semester or a year must request a J-1 Visa.

  2. Financial Aid for NSE Students

    All students need to request financial aid online. Only those who will pay tuition at IAUPR – San Germán can apply for financial aid from our campus, everyone else must request financial aid from their home campus. Nevertheless, all students need to include both institutional codes on the FAFSA application.

    Please fill out the FAFSA form on the internet. The address is the following:
    http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

    Students paying tuition and fees at IAUPR – San Germán will apply for financial aid from our campus, everyone else must request financial aid from their home campus.
    When filling out the FAFSA form, please remember to add our university code number 042542 so that the record is sent automatically to our campus.
    When you come to Puerto Rico, bring any evidence of income of yourself if you are independent, or of your parents if you are dependent. This could be your parents and/or your  IRS transcript last year, and all other types of income you and/or your family has.
